(highlight:: Non-Concordant Goals
Key takeaways:
• Selfconcordance is a complex concept that can be difficult to achieve.
• People pursuing nonconcordance goals often do so because somebody else wants them to, or because they think they should be that person. These motivations make it difficult to hear more subtle signals from our non-conscious minds.
Transcript:

Self-concordance is simultaneously a simple and a complex concept. People pursuing non-concordance goals are often doing something mainly because somebody else wants them to, somebody who's important to them, could be parents, could be a spouse. Other times they are trying to be something that they themselves think they should be. They've got this idea maybe that goes way back in their lives of what kind of person they are and what they need to do to be that kind of person. The problem with both of these types of motivations is it makes it difficult to hear more subtle signals that are coming up from our non-conscious minds that might help us to realize That this isn't quite it yet.)
