There is literally no "too corny". When I was in my twenties I had poor social skills and decided to be the corny guy. My go to was "Oh! Here comes trouble!" Or I'd get low and pretend to punch your gut and say "how you doin champ?" People legit love that stuff. Even when they don't and they roll their eyes at you they're still kind of smirking. Gas people up and make them feel good about themselves and be humble and earnest. And yes, practice practice practice!
