There are at least 3 reasons people here stop non-sexual intimacy...The LL gets an aversion to that intimacy because (gasp!!!!) it might lead to sex. Or might inevitably lead to sex, considering the HL is totally sex starved. It's a viscous feedback cycle.The HL is not really interested in naked spooning at night, and having to go to sleep every night with a raging hard on and getting blue balled. Other forms of intimacy result in more or less the same extreme frustration.I do believe some LL's are simply intimacy averse. As the DB drags on year after year, the HL throws in the towel (falls out of love), and etc.The way you describe your gf is the standard definition of a "romantic asexual". Enjoys non-sexual intimacy but is averse to partnered sex. I'm not saying she is, but given that amazing coincidence it is worth some time googling that and finding the major asexual site.
